Khwab…dreams…. my dream… my own clothing line… fusion of ideas, designs, styles… classic, modern, contemporary influenced by different heritages, geographies, cultures… well, it goes on… dreams are not limited by rationale, boundaries and it will be my attempt to create fashion not confined by boundaries. And achieve all this in a responsible manner.
The launch collection, Junoon, our first FW’22, is an amalgam of traditional Indian embroidery, Chikankari, crafted in Streetwear style.
Chikankari is inspired by Persian art. It is believed that it was introduced by Nur Jahan, Mughal emperor Jahangir’s wife in India in the 17th century. It continues to be one of the most traditional embroidery styles in existence. Modern day Lucknow is the hub of Chikankari. The intricacy of the beautiful embroidery being interlaced upon the delicate georgette fabric in a variety of hues is unmatched. In my opinion Chikankari fabric can be a very versatile fabric that can be used for so much more than kurtas and anarkali’s. It’s timeless, effortless and undeniably chic.
Streetwear is a style of casual clothing which became global in the 1990s. It grew from New York hip hop fashion and Californian surf culture to encompass elements of sportswear, punk, and Korean street fashion. This style line has its own aesthetics as it is unique to every persona while helping one to portray their character and connects the youth to one another in a medium defined by clothes but is fast paced and changes with the upcoming trends.

KHWAB is an attempt to break free from conventional fashion norms and create something that is unique, diverse, and socially responsible. It is a clothing line that seeks to combine traditional styles and modern design ideas from different cultures and heritages. The clothing line is influenced by both authentic and classic styles, as well as contemporary fashion trends. The Spring Summer edit, SHEHER, is an amalgam of traditional Indian embroidery, Chikankari, crafted in Streetwear style.

The idea of capturing the aesthetics of both of these extremely different but unique authenticities is what we at KHWAB are aiming at. All the ensembles have been curated after a thorough study of the trends for the following fall/winter season to keep the trends as well as the Indian heritage alive and updated.
